ANYTHING FOR SELENAS!

Hi guys! So if you are a makeup fanatic like me you are familiar with the "makeup release protocol". Last week was the store relaese of the M.A.C Selena Collection. Now, since my current attempts of adulting (I'm 23 and just graduated from college) I took a break from purchasing every new product that releases. Let's face it, I have more than enough makeup for my one face. However, there was absolutely no way I could miss out on this once in a life time release. This post is about my Selena release experience.

The adventure begins with an alarm going off at 3:45 A.M. Yes guys, 3:45A.M. My boyfriend was the one who had to persuade me to get my tired butt out of bed and take the trip to the mall. In my city the only place to purchase M.A.C. is located in our mall. The mall doors open at 5 a.m. for the walkers. If you're not from Raleigh "the walkers" are people, usually senior citizens, that walk around the mall for their dose of daily cardio. So, at 5 a.m. my boyfriend, his brother, his brother's finance, and I began our 5 hour countdown to the release. We were accompanied by one other devoted fan as we made ourselves comfortable on the cold linoleum in front of the Belk department store. As we watched the morning walkers take a few laps we saw a new face marching towards us. It was the head of the mall's rent-a-cop security team. With attitude and aggressiveness, the ill informed security guard, questioned our intentions. She said, "I called Belk and there is no release event today, and just to let you know there are cameras watching you". So of course we are all thinking- here this lady goes with the bull shit. My boyfriend kindly explains to her that this is a M.A.C. release and not a Belk release and that she needs to phone someone else. I'm sure all of our tired faces sitting on the floor looked quite threatening to her (sense the sarcasm?). I could go on about her but let's get back to what's important.

Several hours and a Panera Bread breakfast sandwich later, other fans join us as we await the arrival of the store associates who taunt us with the preparation for the release. They literally dangled the display in front of us like a salivating K9 awaiting the gift of a treat from its owner. So, of course we all fall for it and take pictures at the window (I have one below). As we are doing this they are taking pictures of us. "Look at these crazy people". At least thats what I imagine them thinking. Soon approaches the final minutes before the door is opened. Our crew was the first four in line. We watched the gaggle of late comers cluster behind us. We didn't anticipate having to deal with any line cutters but we're ready to handle them if they tried it. Lol yes it was that serious. Finally the doors opened and it all happened in a matter of minutes. After the first five customers items were already sold out. I looked at the line and knew that those who were in the back would probably leave the store empty handed. Honestly, I felt bad for them but extremely happy that I got what I wanted from the collection.

This release was one of the biggest launches from M.A.C. and also showed the on going strength of the Selena fan base. M.A.C. tweeted that they will be looking to restock the collection in January of 2017. However if you can't wait until then, like all M.A.C. launches there are resellers selling this collection on various sites. I just ask that you all be careful in ordering from them. I am excited that I am one of the many who got some of her collection and I would do it all over again because this collection is amazing. Please feel free to look at the images below.
