Lazy Sunday Beauty Routine

Hey again! Today I am sharing with you all some of the things that I like to do to start my week off on the right foot. I am fortunate enough to be in the position where I get to make the schedule at my current job. This allows me to be able to take Sundays off. I use to work every Saturday and Sunday and when I got my new position I requested that the one day I would like to not work is on Sundays. For me Sunday has always been a day to reset and prepare for the upcoming week. This Sunday was cold and gloomy. So after I camped out for 8 hours at Target for a Hatchimal (a completely other tortuous story) I decided to stay home and give myself a little TLC and make chili for dinner.(Yumm!)

SKIN

#1 After a long week of working my skin was in need of rejuvenation. I used to Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub to gently exfoliate and clean my face before applying my mud mask. This face wash is very affordable and contains Vitamin C which helps the production of collagen along with salicylic acid which helps with break out.

#2 After my face was squeaky clean I applied the Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask. This mask helps to draw out dirt and oil and clarify trouble skin. I don't have bad skin or anything but I do get a blemish once a month like clock work (thanks mother nature :/ ). This mud mask contains Tamarind Extract which is a natural astringent that helps exfoliate and brighten your skin. It also contains tea tree oil which aids in the healing of the skin. This particular mask is intended for blemish prone skin. They have other masks in their collection for those with dry skin and sensitive skin.

This was my first time trying this product so I purchased a sample pack for $2.49 at Walgreens. It also comes in a 6oz container for $14.99.

I just applied a thin layer to my face and set a timer for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes I rinsed the mask off with warm water and pat dry with a towel and applied moisturizer.

HAIR

So for those of you who don't know. I am #teamnatural. Meaning that I no longer process my hair chemically or use excess amounts of heat on it. I nurture and except my natural hair pattern. I usually shampoo/cowash my hair and deep condition it once a week. This week I used the Eden Body Works Peppermint Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. I detangle while the conditioner is in my hair. Then I rinse it out and deep condition with a mixture of other conditioners that I like. I let this sit under a plastic shower cap for 30 minutes to and hour and then rinse it out. For styling this week I did a perm rod set. I will update this post with a picture of how it came out.

NAILS

Lately I have been painting my own nails at home rather than going to the salon. It saves a few buck and with this amazing top coat that I purchased at my local Walgreens my nails are dry in 60 seconds.

However, I my have to touch up the tips that have chipped.

I paint over the portions that need to be fixed and then apply a top coat over the entire nail. The top coat that I use is the Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. It retails for around $9.00. I know that $9.00 is pretty pricey for a top coat but it really works.

What do you all do to prepare yourselves for the week ahead? Let me know. As always thank you so much for reading.

As always stay beautiful inside and out.

Maura Marie
