Makeup Is My True Passion

Hi all! So lately my post have been about products but I wanted to discuss with you all something that is makeup related but something that will allow you all to get to know me a little better. As the title suggest I will be discussing my thoughts on makeup and the art form. Now before you exit out of reading this post just hear me out. I know there are plenty of people out there who are in the same boat as I am. It may not have to do with makeup necessarily but I'm sure you can identify. I am a 23 year old who has one remaining class to take to finally have a Bachelors degree in English. Who also works at a full time job which I absolutely hate (I am grateful to be able to work full time but I'm not passionate about it). I dread the fact that I spend the majority of my time doing something that I don't care about. I do it for a paycheck not because I value what I do. I know that most people feel this way and if you are one of those people then you are probably thinking that I should suck it up and just do what I got to do. Believe me I suck it up every morning and make my way to work but I am dying to do something that I enjoy. I am a creative sort and my job lacks any component that will let me exercise that urge. It's kind of depressing. I constantly struggle with the choice of quitting and risking everything to be happy or keeping the security of a paycheck. This is the reason I started my blog. I needed a creative outlet and I love makeup. Not just as an indulgent hobby but as an art form. The one class I never missed and was excited to go to was my theater makeup class I took in college. I know that I am still young and have time to pursue so many things but I don't want to look back and regret not doing the things that I love because I'm too afraid to go out on a limb. I want to do special effects makeup, I want to meet Rick Baker, I want to work on movies, I want to wake up and live for what I do and not do what I do just to live. When I have time I do makeup for events (often graduation and prom) and someone is paying me to do something that I do not consider work but my passion.

This is Rick Baker! If you don't know him click the link to his twitter ! He has a star on the Walk of Fame people!
I know this may seem like a rant but I just wanted you all to know my take on this whole makeup thing and maybe spark some buried dream in you all! I am working on a plan that allows me to continue building towards my dreams without letting go of my security. These types of post will appear on rare occasion unless requested. Let me know wha you think.
Thank you for reading
Stay beautiful inside and out
Maura Marie
